In 2018, we were delighted to share our raised funds from our street party with these three fantastic community groups

Exminster School Association

The funds that we raise for The Exminster School Association will go towards paying for Creative Curriculum activities for all the children in the school.  Our funds will provide opportunities for the children, including visitors coming to their school, trips away from school, and theme days. In the past, the school has welcomed visits from artists, historians and animal groups to name but a few.  Trips out for each year group, such as a forest school and science museums, provide a real experience and form the basis for the rest of the school children's learning of a particular subject matter.  Themed days in Exminster Primary School are a wonderful way to further enhance their learning.  This may involve exhibiting, cooking, building a museum etc.  The children are very proud of their GOAL (Get On And Learn) work and enjoy using a range of resources to collaborate and present creatively.  The Exminster Primary School pupils gain a great deal from all of these different real and purposeful experiences, but it all costs money. That is why we are so pleased to provide some funds that will enable such experiences to happen more often.

Exminster Pre-school

As a registered charity (charity no 1024111) Exminster Pre-school undertake fundraising so that they can buy resources, equipment and maintain their indoor and outdoor environments. Currently, they are fundraising so that they can update and improve their outdoor decking area which is now in need of some tender loving care! In particular, they need to replace the roof and make the area more waterproof so that it can be used and enjoyed all year round. They also need to buy a new Wendy house as their current one has been VERY well used! Exminster Long Table are excited about helping to make these maintenance projects happen by giving Exminster Pre-school a share of the funds raised by our ELT street party this year. We will be helping to ensure that the pre-school's children have access throughout the year to an improved outdoor area. This will help to create a positive attitude and a feeling of love amongst the children towards the great outdoors. It will also help to future proof the area, making it more enjoyable and accessible to many children for years to come.

The Nayamba Trust

The Nayamba Trust is a charity based in Exminster in Devon. The trust raises funds for a community primary school called Nayamba School which is located in Chisamba, Zambia. The funds ensure that the school can continue to provide the best standard of education for all its pupils, for free. The Trust is proud that 100% of the funds that are raised go directly to the school to make a difference. Everyone involved in the trust are unpaid volunteers and the trust does not use any funds for administrative or marketing purposes. Volunteer teams that visit the school fully fund their own trip and also cover the expenses of the resources needed to make the trip a success. Exminster Long Table are so pleased to be raising money for Nayamba School and we have asked The Nayamba Trust if we can contribute specifically to their food programme which ensures that every child at the school receives a nutritious, hot porridge meal, enriched with all the essential vitamins they need to be healthy, every day. This has had an amazing impact on the children's attendance and their attention in class, as well as their overall health.  £30 feeds a whole class of children for a full month! With this in mind, we will feel very happy when we watch people tucking in to their food at our street party, knowing that everyone's enjoyment on the day will be raising funds to feed so many children at Nayamba School, daily.
